Catholic laities have experienced the power of our Blessed Virgin Mary over the centuries. Regardless you are an individual or a group, if you pray faithfully in any trouble; you will receive her protection and assistance.

In 1572, crusader defeated the Turkish navy when they intended to intrude Europe. Pope Saint Pius V attributed the victory to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and instituted the feast of

Our Lady of Victory.

In 1682, Catholic laities and army in Vienna defeated the Turkish army again under the blessing from Blessed Virgin Mary. To acknowledge the blessing from Blessed Virgin Mary, Pope Innocent XII approved the establishment of

Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. In 24 May 1814, Pope Pius VII, who was in jail under the oppression by Napoleon Bonaparte, was released and returned to Rome. Twelve months later, Pope Pius VII decreed that the Feast of Mary Help of Christians be kept on 24 May.

Fr. San Giovanni Bosco was an ardent Marian devotee of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title

Mary Help of Christians. He later dedicated his works to De Sales when he founded the Salesians of Don Bosco – a catholic institute to help poor children during industrial revolution in Turin, Italy. Today, Salesians of Don Bosco

operates worldwide to care and education the youth.

In 1868, through various miracles by the Blessed Mary Virgin, he built the

Basilica of Our Lady Help of Christian. He later founded the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, a religious congregation of nuns dedicated to the care and education of poor girls.

Aim : To foster the growth and sanctification of members’ Christian life,”sojourning in the world yet longing for God” through the daily practice of spiritual reading and meditation so that, with the help of the Holy Spirit and Our Lady, they may become the salt of the earth and the light of the world.

Regarding the aforementioned aim, we particularly focus on daily practices of spiritual reading and meditation. These spiritual growth practices are not only well-known methods in the catholic community, but they are some invaluable experience that we have accumulated over years. If a Catholic is able to read the scripture and meditate every day, with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, his faith will be strengthen and gradually he will be living a Christian life.
